About Us
Queen of Swords is a medicinal herb farm and craft apothecary in Oregon's verdant Willamette Valley. Owned and operated by one woman (she/they) with a decade of professional farming experience in the PNW, everything is done by hand with attention to detail, a mind for ecological balance, a love of artful magic, and a dash of sardonic humor.

When I'm not on the farm or in my apothecary, you'll find me either out on my motorcycle or out in the forests foraging (sometimes both). My goal is to help create meaning and foster connection to our bodies, minds, spirits, and each other through building connections to the land and its many gifts and wisdom. I think building relationships with the ecosystem we call home is a powerful way to heal, grow, and thrive amidst the grief, upheaval, and isolation that have become so prevalent in our daily lives.

I'm happy to be offered the opportunity to share a small selection of my crops and creations for this bulk event. I'm even more thrilled that my offerings will find their way to your pantries, your teacups, and your tables throughout the winter...I hope they bring you a smile.

Please visit my website for a full listing of all the herbs and apothecary goods I have to offer.
Practices
Everything is grown in accordance with the standards for Organic certification by Oregon Tilth, although the farm is not certified Organic. My ideal farm ecology starts at "Organic" and extends first and foremost to cultivating healthy soil microbiology through cover cropping, mulching, composting, minimal tillage, and applying only minimal amounts of well-rounded Organic fertilizers. Healthy soils produce resilient, lively, and robust plants, which in turn create the most potent and vibrant plant medicines.

I also value and practice/utilize water conservation, appropriate technologies, selecting regionally appropriate crops, waste reduction and reuse, pollinator support, alternative energies, supporting regional seed growers and local businesses with my purchases, and minimizing the use of plastics on the farm. Nothing is grown in a greenhouse, no petrol-based row covers are used, no single-use plastic mulch is used, and I don't sell my products in plastic or single-use packaging.

I currently grow over 60 varieties of medicinal and culinary herbs, each with its own needs for seeding, planting, watering, seasonal preference, harvest, and processing. It's a joyful challenge to rise to the occasion of tending to so many different members of this organism. I always strive to achieve the best medicinal outcome possible- timing watering, feeding, pruning, mulching, weeding, and harvest to maximize the potency of the plants and the ecology of the farm.
